Non-NHS Services

Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following: documents

  • Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.)
  • Insurance claim forms
  • Prescriptions for taking medication abroad
  • Private sick notes
  • Vaccination certificates

The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.

Legislative Change to Department for Transport (Dft) Blue Badge Scheme

This change took effect from 30th August 2019. This entitles people with non-visible (hidden) disabilities to apply for a Blue Badge.  GPs will not participate in providing reports to support Blue Badge Applications. Patients are advised to contact an alternative professional from the suggested list below.  Please contact Essex County Council for any further enquiries.

Child and adolescent mental health for children with special educational and additional complex needs, ASD and Asperger’s Syndrome

Paediatric Neurodisability, ASD, ADHD, learning problems, behavioural and associated mental health, Seizures, Epilepsy, Amnesia, neuropathic pain

  • Occupational Therapist

Wide range of conditions, most commonly difficulties due to mental health illness, physical or learning difficulties. Commonly facilitate independent mobility assessments on behalf of local authorities.

  • Physiotherapist

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Huntington’s Disease, M.E. / CFS, major trauma. Transverse Myelitis. Commonly facilitate independent mobility assessments on behalf of local authorities

  • Psychiatrist

Older peoples’ mental health, applied health research & policy.

ASD and other complex mental health disorders in children, young people, adults.

Paediatric rheumatology, pain management, Lupus, general rheumatology, inflammatory arthritis.
